Dell, Inc. – Sales Development Program (Commercial Business)

Dell, Inc. is looking for undergraduates to join Dell’s Sales Development Program, a high-profile 2 year accelerated rotational program aimed at developing Dell’s future sales leaders. The program combines rotations to provide participants with a wide breadth of experiences and an advanced knowledge of Dell’s sales organization along with focus on developing leadership skills. In addition, the program offers visibility/networking with managers and executives, career development planning, soft skill training, leadership development workshops, and a robust feedback/performance review process. The rotational path is designed with the high-potential candidate’s education, skill-set and career interests in mind.

Roles and Responsibilities include:

Responsible for selling the full catalogue of products and services via telephone to Dell customers. Focus on managing relationships with retention accounts while developing new relationships with acquisition customers. Provide technical and administrative information and price quotes. Provide updated marketing/sales literature to prospective clients, keep up-to-date knowledge of the industry as well as the competitive posture of the company, and prepare activity and forecast reports as requested.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

• Sell Dell products and services by responding to inbound or placing outbound customer call, determining needs, overcoming objections, and providing solutions.
• Establish customer relationships with appropriate customer personnel such as purchasing, management and end-users.
• Forecast attainment utilizing segment provided reporting tools.
• Present and demonstrate products and services to potential customers at trade shows and/or on-site to increase exposure of products and services.
• Maintain awareness of market conditions and competitors’ products and pricing.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Ability to work in a team environment demonstrating strong leadership skills
• Experience using software packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Outstanding verbal and written skills
• Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, & peripherals. Understanding the components, i.e. processors, memory, printers.
• Demonstrate history of professionalism with peers, subordinates, leaders and customers
• Ability to manage time and prioritize work effectively
• Demonstrate the ability to cope with a complex and changing environment

Ideal candidates have a 3.4 minimum cumulative GPA, previous business or sales experience, as well as extra-curricular involvement. They need to be leaders with demonstrated leadership capability as well as be driven, self-starters, and flexible/ adaptable to a changing environment.
